Costa Rica Caribbean

After a week on the Pacific coast moving to a differnt town every few days, we were excited to stay in one place for a week on the Caribbean coast. We stayed in Puerto Viejo at the infamous Rockin Js hostel (recommended to us by everyone!) The hostel was right on the beach with a jungle between us and the ocean. The jungle was full of monkeys, sloths, spiders, crabs, and many more creepy crawlers. We spent most of our time relaxing on the beach and walking around town. We also went for a 26k round trip bike ride to Manzillo and a zip line tour.

On our first day we walked down to a near by beach and ran into this guy! He was climbing up and down the trees at a slow sloth pace. Luckily he was slow enough that I (Colleen) had time to run back to the hostel and get our camera. He came within 3 feet of Patrick!

After our awesome sloth sighting we found this great Palm Tree bent over on top of the beach. We entertained ourselves for a while balancing on it and then enjoyed the sunset.

Here Patrick and Michelle are on our bike ride.

We had a nice picnic on the beach in Manzillo during our bike ride. Nothing like a bag of beans, veggies and tortillas.

Golden Orb Weaver Spider. These were all over the place and the size of my hand. They were harmless too.

Zip line!

Michelle crossing one of the 14 zip lines!

At the end we got to do a Tarzan swing!

SNAKE! We stumbled upon this Brown Viper on our zipline tour! Michelle thought it was just a skin and almost convinced someone to touch it. Luckily they realized it was real.
SNAKE! Rockin Js was completely decorated with mosaic tile work.

Michelles bed for the week. Unfortunatley 2 of the nights someone threw up underneath her hammock. Gross!

Beach time!

Patrick and Sean playing in the giant waves. They were so strong they would tumble you around and around. I went out and only lasted a few minutes.

Patricks favorite part of Costa Rica. Jk (kinda) This was a walk in freezer with chocolate bars and free chocolate samples! All the chocolate was made from the farm in the back. After we found this place we had to go back everyday.

Chilling out at the hostel.

Yeah! Our tent made it! No more sleeping in bug nets or on the ground!

Good bye Sean! We had so much fun! Love you!

Michelles classic pose for every picture. We litterally have like 2 pics of her not cracking up. Here she is catching her bus to San Jose! Love you we had fun!

Crossing the bridge to Panama. Costa Rica was great! The best wildlife we have seen yet!
