Granada, Nicaragua

We spent the first week in Nicaragua in Leon (climbing the volcanoe) and in Granada. Granada has a heavy European enfluence. As you can see by the pictures below, the streets, architeture and city layout is more like parts of Europe than Central America.
This a view of the city from the tallest church in town, looking out on to lago de Nicaragua.

Here we are in the old town area where all the streets are cobble stone.

After throughly exploring the local market we got a sandwich bag of fresh melon juice and 3 sliced mangos for a dollar!!!! Hollar!!!
